As a Formulations Technologist, you'll be at the heart of innovation, helping to create and refine cutting-edge cannabis-infused edible and beverage products. Working closely with the Formulations Team, you'll support research, development, and commercialization efforts while ensuring compliance with GMP, regulatory, and internal quality standards. This hands-on role involves conducting formulation trials, assisting in scale-up processes, and performing technical evaluations of product characteristics such as flavor, texture, and stability.What You'll Do:
  • Support the development, optimization, and scaling of cannabis-infused formulations for edibles and beverages through bench-top trials, pilot batches, and full-scale production runs
  • Conduct sensory testing, shelf-life studies, and quality evaluations using advanced tools such as viscometers and texture analyzers to ensure product consistency and performance
  • Maintain and continuously improve technical documentation, including SOPs, batch records, and product information sheets, to support quality and operational efficiency
  • Support regulatory compliance by managing labeling and documentation requirements, coordinating third-party lab testing, and analyzing results to inform internal decisions
  • Manage ingredient and formulation data using MRP systems and formulation software while ensuring compliance with GMP, food safety, and cannabis regulations
  • Share insights and data-driven findings to drive innovation and support continuous improvement across formulation processes and team collaboration
What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Chemistry, Chemistry, or a related field with 2+ years of hands-on experience in beverage manufacturing
  • You bring hands-on experience with beverage formulation and scale-up processes, along with a solid understanding of equipment used in beverage and confectionery production
  • You have a strong understanding of ingredient functionality, emulsions, hydrocolloids, and the core principles of food chemistry, enabling you to develop stable, high-quality formulations
  • You have a solid understanding of GMPs, food safety, and regulatory requirements, along with hands-on experience conducting sensory evaluations and shelf-life studies
  • You're a strong communicator with excellent documentation skills, known for your attention to detail, organizational strength, and problem-solving mindset
  • You're proficient in Microsoft Office and formulation software, enabling efficient data management, reporting, and formulation tracking
  • You're open to traveling up to 10% for product trials, production support, and industry-related events
Even Better If:
  • You have experience in the cannabis industry or a regulated food manufacturing environment, with a solid understanding of multiple cannabis dosage forms such as tinctures, capsules, and edibles
  • You're familiar with ERP/MRP systems for efficient ingredient management and formulation tracking
  • You bring a background in data science or analytics applied to product development
  • You have hands-on experience supporting R&D trials and driving product commercialization

This position requires close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.Work Environment:This position has allergen warnings, potential exposure to dust, pollen, and plant pathogens, requires exposure to cleaning solvents, such as high volumes of isopropyl alcohol, requires daily use of provided PPE, such as masks, hair nets, beard covers, respirators, boot covers, scrubs, non-slip shoes, and Tyvek suits as necessary, requires the ability to work in confined spaces, has exposure to loud noises, including but not limited to air compressors, packaging equipment, and alarms, has exposure to CO2 manufacturing procedures at OSHA approved CO2 levels and requires a high stress tolerance, adaptability, and flexibility.
