- Test Red Hat Openstack product with a variety of hardware resources, including different servers, CPU types, network topologies and storage backends.
- Develop automated software tests using Infrared automation infrastructure and available scripting languages, such as Ansible and Python.
- Support the community automation testing framework, Tempest, and enhance coverage by adding more tests to existing suites.
- Report product bugs, track and communicate the relevant information with Development and Product Managers on a daily basis using bugzilla.
- Build and improve upon tools while gaining support from stakeholders in the Quality Engineering and Development teams.
- Execute test cases and verify bugs fixes both manually and automatically using physical and virtual servers, switches and storage arrays.
- Work closely with developers and Product Managers to ensure the quality of documents and products by prioritizing tasks and analyzing outcomes.
- Responsible for regression testing and execution, as well as automating cases to improve product efficiency in future releases.
- Participate in feature design meetings to incorporate and highlight Quality Engineer and customer perspectives into the discussion and ensure that they are represented in the final product.
- Follow and document company templates, standards, and compliance so that other users can replicate, re-execute, and re-verify test cases written by the Quality Engineer.
- Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related role.
- Must have two (2) years of experience with: Linux or UNIX systems; active scripting and programming using Python and Bash; and virtualization and cloud computing technologies.
- Must have one (1) year of experience with: continuous integration and developing automated tests; OpenStack; writing test automation in Ansible; and OpenShift or Kubernetes.
