Survey Research Intercept Interviewer

- Travel to the Indianapolis Zoo, 1200 West Washington St. Indianapolis, IN 46222, to work a 4-hour shift on selected dates below.
- Intercept and engage visitors to complete an in-person interview using an iPad, and asking them about their visitor experience at the Indianapolis Zoo
- Keep respondent information and survey details confidential
- Follow all project specifications and best practices for survey research
- Be professional and friendly at all times when conducting the surveys
- Complete all other tasks as assigned
- Dress code – a company-provided polo shirt, lanyard with credentials, khaki or black slacks (no jeans) and comfortable walking shoes.
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or GED
- Must have previous experience in a market research role, working as a field, intercept, or phone interviewer
- Must be outgoing and confident to ask people to complete a brief survey of about 3 to 4 minutes in length
- Must meet project expectations and goals for required number of completed surveys per hour
- Must check in with project director when you have arrived for your scheduled shift
- Must be friendly and professional
- Must be self-motivated
- Must be familiar with Apple products (iPad)
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule and be available at the Zoo on the following dates:
- Thursday, October 2nd from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Saturday, October 4th from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Friday, October 10th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- Sunday, October 12th from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- Saturday, October 18th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- Thursday, October 23rd from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Friday, October 24th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- Sunday October 26th from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- Wednesday, October 29th from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Previous field data collection or interviewing experience preferred
- Must enjoy interacting with all sorts of people
- Must treat all respondents with sincere professionalism, politeness and friendliness
- Ability to adjust to the environment outdoors and weather conditions as encountered
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time (4-hour shifts)
- Ability to climb stairs (various numbers of flights) as needed
- Ability to lift and carry an iPad and project materials not to exceed 2 pounds
- Ability to use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools, or electronic controls; reach with hands and arms
- This job's specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
