Description of Job DutiesJob Summary:Under general supervision, responsible for systems analysis and application programming. The position involves working with users in all administrative departments to assess, recommend, build, deliver, train and support solutions to emerging business needs, primarily by supporting the University's use of the Ellucian Colleague environment, Argos and Synoptix reporting, Softdocs Software, and all other software applications. Tasks include the review and analysis of user functions and activities, evaluation of available resources and current systems, the development of appropriate programs or systems, and continuous end-user support in their use of the information systems and technology. These tasks are to be performed in a manner that professionally, cordially and efficiently assist the students, faculty, staff, and visitors.Description of Job Duties:
- Evaluate, define, identify and analyze problems and opportunities for improvement with existing information systems, as well as user requests for new or modified functions or programs that require computer-oriented solutions. Business applications affected include, but are not limited to: the Colleague Modules, Learning Management System (LMS), Softdocs and any sub-systems that fall under these major areas.
- Analyze, review and alter user requirements, procedures and programs to increase operating efficiency, adapt to new requirements, and resolve processing issues. Consult with user to identify current operating procedures, clarify program objectives, specific program problems, and input/output requirements.
- Have experience administering production reporting environments utilizing MAPS/Argos
- Consults with supervisor, other analysts/programmers, and end-users to develop functional design specifications and gather information about: program intent, functions, features; data requirements, input requirements, and output requirements; internal and external checks and controls; hardware and operating systems environment, and interfaces with other systems.
- Prepare documentation describing tasks, completion methodology and timelines.
- Evaluates, and adjusts where appropriate, the Ellucian Colleague setup tables relative to the client business practices
- Develop and modify technical documentation to support application maintenance, operations, and end-user training.
- Complete actual development of system or changes from above design. Code, develop test data, test and debug new procedures. Review upgrades with end user. Once complete, install new upgrades and provide initial user training.
- Provide on-going support, maintenance and review of application systems and programs in order to meet the changing needs of administrative functions. Assist end-users with constant support of system operation and daily problems.
- Complete requests for one-time reports, extracting required data from existing systems. Also assist end-users with submission of required Federal and State data submission.
- Notify Director or Human Resources of any potentially dangerous equipment, practices, or violations of safety procedures.
- Other duties as assigned
- Responsible for performing both the analysis and completion of more complex projects and problems.
- Assume leadership role which involves ensuring the completion of assigned projects or activities, as well as assist those employees within the previous levels.
- Review and evaluate user requests and other information concerning data processing requirements, prioritizing work requests, coordinating work activities.
- Assist other departmental staff during needed times.

Education and ExperienceEducation and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Computer skills, knowledge of software, hardware, systems analysis and programming skills required.
- Experience in reporting software such as Argos, Crystal Report, Power BI, etc. required
- Knowledge of relational databases using SQL language and ODBC skills is preferred
- Experience in reporting software such as Argos, Crystal Report a plus
- Demonstrates knowledge of Evisions products Argos, Form Fusion, Softdocs is preferred
- Experience in Colleague Studio and Ellucian Recruit Software is a plus
- Higher Education background and knowledge
- Strong analytic skills, coordinating skills, and strong communication and personal interaction skills
- Must be able to work independently and/or as a member of a team.
