The Sonnenalp is looking for a Full-Time Year Round Treff Café Lead Barista.Wage: $20.00 - $21.00/hour, plus an additional $4-$5 per hour in tipsTypical Schedule: 5 Days a week, Weekends and HolidaysPrimary Purpose of PositionThe Lead Barista oversees front of the house operations in the Treff Café. The Lead Barista will ensure consistent, superior service and food, stepping into all positions in the restaurant as necessary. They will be responsible and have the authority to take care of immediate guest and staff issues. The Lead Barista will comply with, and enforce all hotel/restaurant policies and procedures.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise staff to make sure they are properly prepared for an upcoming shift and provide them with the tools they need to perform well; menu terminology, 86 list, special group needs, etc.
  • Supervise staff during a shift to ensure greatest guest satisfaction; points of service, attention to detail, etc.
  • Work with kitchen staff to make sure food is being prepared in an organized and timely manner
  • Check with customers during their meal to see if they are happy with their dining experience
  • Assist in controlling labor costs
  • Keep staff educated and tested on menus
  • Help keep restaurant properly stocked by placing orders for coffee and tea and letting the appropriate managers know if we have shortages of products such as wine, beer, liquor, and food
  • Give input/suggestions to other managers as well as, receiving input/suggestions from other managers to run restaurant as efficiently and successfully as possible
  • Take care of all bar ordering (liquor, beer, soft beverages, and coffee)
  • Continual training with staff, keep them informed with menu knowledge, 86 list, wine knowledge, tableside service techniques
Education/Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required
  • Barista Experience preferred
  • Restaurant serving or bartending experience preferred, ideally in a resort/hotel setting
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
Special Skills/Equipment
  • Strong wine and liquor knowledge
  • Strong computer skills required
  • Strong organizational skills required
  • TIPS certification preferred
  • ServSafe Certification preferred
  • Prior experience with POS system preferred
  • Efficient with computers, Microsoft Office, and web-based systems
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision; self-motivated & self-starter
Essential Physical Requirements
  • Position primarily performed indoors assisting a variety of guests
  • Ability to stand and walk for full length of shift, up to 12 hours at one time
  • Ability to regularly carry up to 40 lbs
  • Should be prepared to work long hours and a variable schedule, to include evenings, holidays and weekends
