- Promoting sales through active discussions with guests, offering OTC product recommendations, and discussing current promotions and service information. (Examples may include: ordering products special requests, assisting guests locate products close to the pharmacy, and chatting about Yoke's signature items, fresh board and sweet deal suggestions).
- Providing exceptional service by greeting guests, and informing them of the special features and services offered by the Pharmacy Department. Services include: carefully informing, educating, consulting, and providing medication management and drug utilization review and, answering questions on drug interaction, side effects, dosage and storage of pharmaceuticals. Special features include: Prescription savings club, free fluoride for children, free prenatal vitamin for expectant mothers, insurance billing, pet prescriptions, smoking cessation, special orders of OTC, and vaccinations.
- Maintaining licensure in the State of Washington and/or Idaho and capable of the following:
- Compounding and dispenses prescribed medications, drugs and other pharmaceuticals for patient care using standard formulas and processes such as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients.
- Reviewing and filling prescriptions issued by Physicians, or other authorized prescribers in a timely manner, and assuring accuracy.
- Determining formulas and ingredients needed for prescriptions.
- Participating in health care screenings or wellness programs at store.
- Entering data such as patient name, prescribed medication and cost, to maintain pharmacy files, charge system, and inventory.
- Maintaining established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.
- Directing pharmacy workers engaged in mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
- Training staff on safety procedures.
- Ensuring proper sanitation and housekeeping in the pharmacy.
- Securing the pharmacy and performing as the Pharmacy Manager in the absence of him or her, including the paperwork, such as, but is not limited to the following: hand billing, reporting, scheduling, and software upgrading.
- Operating (at minimum) the following equipment in a correct and safe manner: com-line, telephone, FM unit (handheld), copy machine, fax machine, reconstitube, computer and all other equipment used in or by the Pharmacy Department
- Communicating guests' requests with accurate and complete instruction for special orders.
- Mentoring new associates or associates who are new to the department or task and assuring a positive learning environment.
- Finding a way to “Make Our Guests Crazy About Us!”
- Ensuring all work performed in the department is completed in accordance with all local, state, federal and company rules, regulations, and policies regarding workplace safety, sanitation/housekeeping standards, and guest services.
- Participating actively in the Pharmacy Department's accident reduction plan including: monitoring displays for trip hazards or instability, observing safe lifting techniques, and recognizing safety features of all machinery, store evacuation plan, and robbery policy.
- Supervising, coordinating, and evaluating the activities of associates in the GM Department by performing all duties personally, or through secondary personnel.
- Performing supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws including interviewing, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance in a timely manner; rewarding, disciplining, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
- Possessing and displaying excellent leadership and communication skills in handling associate matters.
- Implementing and enforcing company policies.
