- Manage a dynamic team, including CNC and manual machinists, machinery assemblers, and production office staff, fostering a collaborative environment that prioritizes efficiency, quality and maximum productivity.
- Organize and supervise production workflows, collaborating closely with the team to drive efficiency, boost productivity, and achieve cost reductions.
- Assign daily work orders to all production direct labor to ensure optimal utilization of resources, including workforce capacities, equipment availability, and vendor coordination.
- Lead end-to-end supply chain management, orchestrating seamless coordination from material procurement to equipment assembly and testing.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to enhance operational efficiency and minimize waste.
- Plan, coordinate, and direct all production activities to achieve on-time shipment and customer delivery of high-quality parts and systems.
- Oversee production planning, scheduling, and purchasing function, managing internal work, raw material ordering, and outsourced operations.
- Ensure efficient and economical production at the lowest cost while maintaining high-quality standards, meeting volume requirements, adhering to inventory targets, and achieving production schedules and delivery dates.
- Address production problems and collaborate with design engineers to enhance product manufacturability.
- Analyze and plan plant workflow, including machinery placement (work cells), to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Minimize downtime by coordinating maintenance and repair services, ensuring adherence to operator maintenance procedures and schedules.
- Manage employee development, nurturing skills and preparing team members for future job assignments.
- Ensure manufacturing processes adhere to ISO 9001-2015 and meet all Environmental, Health & Safety requirements.
- Support quality assurance and initiate initiatives for scrap and waste reduction
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent degree or experience.
- 5-10 years of experience supervising or managing in a CNC machining manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of production machinery and machining processes.
- Working knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (interpretation of engineering detail drawings).
- Prior machining experience, CNC programming or CAD-CAM knowledge beneficial.
- Prior experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Proficiency using MRP and similar computer based technologies in a production-manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality standards.
- Ability to lead, motivate and positively influence production workforce personnel.
- Must have prior Supervisory experiences of direct labor production employees.
- Must be able to organize work and effectively use MRP system and available resources to achieve customer delivery requirements.
