- WORK LIFE BALANCE: In addition to a ten-month school year during which our staff are offered on average 33 days off (approximately 7 weeks) for scheduled holidays and school breaks, we provide generous preparation periods throughout each week, limiting the number of after work hours you will need to work — so that you can live the life you wish for — inside and outside of our school. Additionally, our students are dismissed midday each Friday in order for you to meet with your team, plan, and prep.

- Develop and implement individualized physical education plans tailored to meet the unique needs of twice-exceptional students (those with both giftedness and learning challenges).
- Assess students’ physical abilities and create customized activities to support both their strengths and areas for growth in motor skills, coordination, and overall fitness.
- Collaborate with special education teachers, psychologists, and other staff to ensure a holistic approach to student development and academic success.
- Adapt physical education curriculum to accommodate a variety of learning styles and physical abilities, ensuring that all students are included and engaged.
- Provide one-on-one or small group instruction to students who require additional support, using specific strategies for addressing both cognitive and physical needs.
- Monitor students' progress and adjust plans as necessary to ensure the development of physical, social, and emotional skills.
- Create an inclusive and supportive environment that fosters confidence, teamwork, and social interaction for students with diverse learning profiles.
- Educate students on physical wellness, health, and fitness in a way that promotes independence and lifelong habits.
- Work closely with families to provide progress updates and offer strategies to support physical education goals at home.
- Ensure safety and proper use of equipment, and maintain a safe, structured physical environment for students with varying needs.
- Bachelor's degree in education or related field
- Experience teaching Physical Education to students in grades 6-12
- Master’s degree in Physical Education or related field
- Special education training, including training in the area of gifted education
- Special education teaching credential
- At least three years experience as a head teacher
- Experience working with twice-exceptional youth
- Special education experience
- Crisis prevention and intervention training
