Do you have the Hospice Heart?Your life as a Children's Program SpecialistYour role is very important to our patients and organization. We will rely on you to ensure that we support our staff in making sure that our children's program is promoted throughout the community via radio, television, mailings, and in person. We work as a team so there will be a need to interact with other members of our team to provide support for recruiting volunteers to serve as facilitators to the program. You will act as overall leader during each session.Job Qualifications
  • Degree in Social Work, Behavioral Science or Education required.
  • Specialized training in grief issues or prior experience in providing grief counseling is preferred.
  • Experience with youth preferred.
  • Experience with hospice preferred.
  • Experience with group facilitation.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus.
  • Creative; ability to develop engaging and age-appropriate flyers, social media posts, crafts and recreational activities.
  • Sense of fun and adventure while maintaining a balance of energy, flexibility and responsibility; is physically active and in good health.
  • Ability to be self-directed and function independently.
  • Ability to be flexible with work schedule.
  • Ability to interpret the Hospice of Wichita Falls philosophy and children's program to the public.
  • Must possess good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills to be used with the staff, volunteers, program attendees, and the community.
  • Ability to present to large groups of people for training and education.
  • Ability to understand complex grief-related issues of bereaved children and family members.
  • Demonstrate ability to be open, sensitive, and flexible when working with children and family members.
  • Ability to handle detailed information and perform a variety of tasks efficiently.
