Oh, and did we mention an amazing Team Environment?*Some benefits may vary depending on position and employment statusPurpose:Responsible for ensuring that the Community is safe, attractive, and well maintained and operating within the Community maintenance/horticulture/grounds budget.Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
  • Relevant work experience (2 plus years preferred).
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors and general public.
  • Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
  • Must have basic reporting and organizational skills.
  • Must be capable of maintaining full time attendance.
  • Must meet all health requirements.
  • Knowledge and experience with horticulture, landscaping, and food production.
  • Knowledge of greenhouse plant production
Essential Functions:
  • Work closely with Horticulture Director and Director of Operations to help evaluate and fmd solutions to routine landscaping/Horticulture needs.
  • Provide information regarding landscaping/Horticulture needs to the Administrator and/or Director of Operations through weekly/monthly reports.
  • Care for the landscaping/horticulture maintenance needs of the Community and its residents as if they were your own home and family.
  • Be extremely familiar with life safety and all horticulture operational systems in the Community including and not limited to the greenhouse.
  • Maintain the purpose of the greenhouse to produce plants.
  • Respond to resident/Administrator/staff requests for maintenance as it relates to horticulture.
  • Ensure 24-hour repair/response time for all horticulture and grounds needs of the community.
  • Work closely with the Administrator and Community Relations Director to assist with weekly farmers market and community marketing events.
  • Work closely with the Community Lifestyles Director for resident horticulture programming.
  • Ensure the Dietary Department is getting weekly produce from the garden.
  • Maintain the integrity of all grounds including the food bank gardens.
  • Maintain and stay within budget for grounds and Horticulture program.
  • Maintain resources, safety and tools for horticulture assistant and landscaping vendors.
  • Other duties as assigned.
