Wor-Wic Community College is accepting applications for a part-time instructor to work approximately 25 hours per week in the welding program. Duties include researching, developing and implementing curriculum based on industry needs; recommending course textbooks; utilizing different strategies to best instruct all students and maximize academic and performance-based learning; creating and maintaining an environment conducive to learning; participating in the candidate selection process; and maintaining attendance, progress report and assessment records. Requirements include a HS Diploma; American Welding Society (AWS) certification or equivalent; seven years of on-the-job welding experience, including reading welding drawings and prints; Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) experience; and strong organizational, written and oral communications, interpersonal, and Microsoft Word and Outlook skills. Preference will be given to candidates with an associate degree; certified welding inspector certification; technical/trade school and/or approved apprenticeship certificate; welding instruction experience at the secondary and/or post-secondary level; leadership/supervisory experience; Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) experience; and strong Micosoft PowerPoint and Excel skills. This position is currently vacant and is required to participate in graduation ceremonies; and may have to work some evenings. Applications received by July 26 will be given first consideration.
