- Perform quality checks on outside plant (OSP) construction to ensure compliance with specifications
- Identify and report unsafe actions or conditions to the crew supervisor
- Generate and maintain accurate As-Built records
- Record units placed, deviations from plans, and construction-related notes
- Identify, document, and follow up on construction deficiencies
- Make recommendations for changes in running line or construction methodologies due to knowledge of or experience in environmental conditions, construction access by crews, or congestion of utilities
- Conduct inspections and assist with investigations as needed
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with subcontractors, supervisors, and internal teams
- Perform all other duties as assigned
- Travel as required
- 2+ years of OSP construction inspection experience
- Familiarity with the National Electric Safety Code
- Previous experience performing NESC inspections
- Must be proficient in OSP Construction Standards
- Thorough understanding of aerial and underground construction methods
- Able to follow OSHA/State/Local Safety Standards
- The physical activity required for this role includes:
- Travel as needed for site visits and business operations
- site visits in a range of weather conditions, including hot and cold weather
- Walking on uneven and variable terrain
- Sitting, standing, walking for extended periods
- Frequently standing, walking, stooping, reaching, climbing, bending and reaching
- Manual dexterity for computer use, and office equipment
- Occasionally lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds
