You can walk in without an appointment 365 days a year to be treated by a board-certified doctor for common illness such as fever, sore throat, respiratory infections, flu and minor injuries, such as sprains and broken bones.SummaryMedical Assistant performs specialized work in inpatient or ambulatory care settings. Emphasis of the work is on assisting providers, nurse managers and Case Manager in the examination and treatment of patients and performing a variety of related clerical tasks.ResponsibilitiesAdministrative Duties (may include, but not limited to): Using computer applications; Answering telephones; Welcoming patients; Updating and filing patient medical records; Coding and filling out insurance forms; Scheduling appointments; Arranging for hospital admissions and laboratory services; Handling correspondence, billing, and bookkeeping. Clinical Duties (may include, but not limited to): Taking medical histories; Preparing patients for examination; Assisting the physician during exams and certain procedures; Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens; Performing basic laboratory tests; Drawing blood; Taking electrocardiograms; May perform other advanced clinical duties under direction and supervision of a nurse or a physician, as needed based on assigned unit.
