Responsibilities:Coordinates and supervises all office activitiesKeeps abreast of changes in day-to-day situations between the business office and the clinical teamMonitors and covers staffing for the business officeInputs patient data and uploads required documents into HSTSends dictations and schedule from previous surgery day to dictation company.Sends schedule to anesthesia group and confirm anesthesia for next surgery dayConfirms insurance authorization if needed and initiates one on behalf of facility if one is not on file.Maintains the missing information list and coordinates with billing team to satisfy documentation requestsFollows pathology reports through completion and uploads into patient's file in HSTActs as second front desk receptionist by filling in when needed and assuming front desk dutiesCollects copayments and deductibles as neededRecords payments in the billing log and uploads to billing systemIssues receipts for payments receivedBalances upfront collections at the end the shiftNotifies clinical when patient is ready to proceed to the clinical areaAccepts deliveries to the ASC, as neededMaintains business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory levelsMaintains medical gas by ordering when panel alerts gas is lowReceives and opens office mail as neededTakes deposits to the bank as neededProtects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial informationPrepares patients charts for the following dayMaintains strict adherence to the center’s policies and procedures; reports needed changes and discrepanciesStrong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and OutlookAttends all required educationRegular and predictable attendance requiredPerforms other miscellaneous duties as assigned Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in a medical practice preferred
  • Ophthalmology experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent
