Job Description:OverviewPay range for this position is $33.36 - $50.34/hour. Actual pay is based on years of licensure.POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to Patient Care Manager of Patient Logistics with assignments directed by the Patient Care Administration Supervisor, and according to nursing care standards, provides professional nursing care services to patients admitted/transferred to assigned unit with a variety of diagnoses. Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care provided to assigned patients. During high acuity or crisis situations functions as a staff RN on general floors, MICU, CCU, CV ICU, PICU, SICU, NSCU, IMSU, ED and/or designated areas of need. In doing so, demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served (age newborn through adult) by the unit. Functions as a member of the Rapid Response Team. The following are general characteristics of this job, although duties may vary by assigned shift.
QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:The job incumbent is required to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care appropriate to the age of the patients served on their assigned unit(s). This requires that the incumbent demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the physical, emotional and psycho social needs of the patient population served. Work requires a professional level of knowledge of nursing practice and theory at a level that generally can be acquired by completion and graduation from an accredited School of Nursing. Current State license as a Registered Nurse required. Work requires a minimum of 1 to 2 years critical care experience in an acute healthcare facility within the past 3 years and completion of Critical Care Classes Level I and II, or successful completion of a competency equivalent. Work requires the interpersonal skills necessary to comfort patients, family members and/or significant others; to communicate effectively and concisely with other patient care providers; and to instruct patients, family members and/or significant others in self care/home care procedures. Work requires analytical ability necessary to assess patients' physical, psychological and social needs, develop individualized patient care plans, and evaluate patients' responses to medical and nursing interventions, and flexibility and prioritization skills to work autonomously.
