
Infant/Toddler Program Assistant Teacher

- Set up and maintain a safe, healthy, nurturing classroom environment. Work collaboratively with the group teacher(s) to prepare and implement activities.
- Communicate with parents and administrators in order to provide continuity and communication between home and school. Document and share the important milestones in their child’s day. Maintain a professional relationship with parents and respect confidentiality.
- Collaborate with other faculty and staff members to coordinate efforts and make joint program decisions,
- Willingness to engage with and learn from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences, and to teach to a range of learners.
- Ensure compliance with the most current NYC DOHMH rules and regulations.
- Support and monitor health, wellness and safety procedures and policies.
- B.A./B.S. degree in Early Childhood Education or CDA credential preferred
- Or 9 college credits in Early Childhood Education and a study plan leading to an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education
- Two years of experience as a group teacher or on the teaching staff in an infant/toddler child care program required.
- Strong skills in early childhood development, including meeting the social and emotional needs of young children.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
