Clearance: TS/SCIWaypoint’s customer is seeking a Senior Oracle and MS SQL Database Engineer - lead and guide all design and upgrade efforts encompassing the Oracle and MS SQL Database environments across a large-scale enterprise Information Technology (IT) program.Responsibilities:
- Ensure Oracle and MS SQL Databases are operating efficiently and effectively
- Serve as an expert related to MS SQL Server internal database and to Azure SQL Database
- Support database migrations and consolidations (ad-hoc and scheduled)
- Oversee database replication, which may include the setup for new replication activities
- Develop Service Design Packages and maintain SOPs for all Oracle and MS SQL database systems
- Responsible for assuring compliance with all regulations, upgrades, and optimal performance of Oracle and MS SQL Databases, and support future planning efforts
- Configure environments for and in support of all Oracle and MS SQL database related aspects of user acceptance testing, functional acceptance testing, system-level testing, database security testing, installation/migration testing, configuration/compatibility testing, and performance, load, and stress testing, as well as support of systems assurance tasks.
- Work on Agile teams and follow Agile methodologies, such as SCRUM
- Resolve SQL Server issues related to TSQL programming, data integrity/corruption, backup/restore, setup/upgrade and add/remove components, Database mirroring, Cluster failover analysis, hangs or unresponsive servers, SQL Server administration tools, auditing issues, database maintenance plans and exceptions
- Work independently, partner effective cross-groups, and manage multiple priorities and deliverables concurrently in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding in Networking and TCP/IP protocols
- Participate in virtualization, networking, and MS Project developments
- Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; 16 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of 10+ years of Database Administration (DBA) experience
- Minimum of 8+ years database design including: capacity planning, configuration, migration, performance monitoring, tuning, security, data recovery and troubleshooting
- Oracle DB certification; Version 12 or above
- Current ITIL Foundations certification
- Must have intermediate to advanced experience with SQL, with demonstrated exposure to at least two of the following versions of SQL Server (2022, 2019, 2016, 2014, 2012, or 2008)
- Experience with web APIs, IIS, and/or REST services
- Oracle Certified Master certification is desired
- Strong coding and/or SQL scripting skills
- IAT Level III certification
