Reports To: Batavia/Williamsburg Branch Manager (Supervisor II)About the RoleClermont County Public Library is seeking a collaborative and service-oriented Branch Supervisor - Adult Services to lead operations at our Williamsburg Branch, working closely with the Batavia Branch team to support consistent, high-quality service across both locations. - Work collaboratively with the manager to coordinate effective branch operations, ensuring smooth workflows, scheduling, and service excellence.
- Under direction of the manager, lead, inspire, and develop dedicated teams through effective hiring, supervision, coaching, training, and performance management.
- Work with manager to drive community engagement by developing impactful programs, forging strategic partnerships, and representing the library at local events and meetings.
- Ensure the delivery of exceptional, guest-focused services that foster a welcoming and inclusive environment.
- Champion a positive workplace culture through clear communication, collaboration, and upholding the manager's expectations.
- Plans, conducts and evaluates programming for adult audiences, ensuring alignment with community needs and Library goals
- Interpret and communicate library policies and procedures to staff and guests, promoting understanding and ensuring consistent adherence.
- Support collection management, including weeding, processing donations, and collaborating with Collection Services on acquisitions.
- Mentor staff, identify development opportunities, and support professional growth.
- Ensure a safe and well-maintained environment for guests and staff.
- Participate actively in system-wide initiatives, committees, and planning to advance library services, supporting strategic goals and cross-branch collaboration.
- Monitor statistics and programming budgets; maintain accurate records including payroll, leave requests, and reimbursements with accuracy and timeliness in conjunction with the manager.
- Contribute to library policy and procedure updates, strategic planning, and service enhancements.
- Experience: At least four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in a public library or similar setting, with demonstrated strong organizational skills.
- Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Library and Information Science (MLS/MLIS) from an ALA-accredited program preferred.
- Leadership: Demonstrated leadership experience equivalent to one to two years supervisory responsibility, which may include supervising staff, managing team projects, chairing committees, or leading community initiatives.
- Engagement: Experience planning and delivering public programs-especially for adults-is strongly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with a variety of technologies, including library management systems, office software, electronic resources, digital devices, and willingness to adopt new technologies
- Communication: Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with a commitment to public service.
- Community Focus: Strong commitment to outreach and building partnerships that meet community needs.
