Clearance Required: Active DoD Secret
Travel: Up to 10%LaunchTech is seeking a Security Assistant to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) at Schriever AFB. This role provides essential security support to the Ground Based Mid-Course Defense Program, helping safeguard critical assets, people, and information.What You’ll DoIn this role, you will:Provide security support to the Ground Based Mid-Course Defense ProgramReceive and process incoming and outgoing visitor access requestsAssist with access control of designated areasServe as the alternate block captain to ensure workforce safety, report hazards, and assist with evacuationsEnsure incident reporting issues are promptly addressed throughout the investigation period, including initial, follow-up, and final reportsConduct INFOSEC self-inspections and participate in INFOSEC reviewsAttend quarterly security manager meetingsAssist with writing and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) to reflect process or procedural changesParticipate in weekly team meetingsAssist with the management of security documents and databasesReport suspected compromises or loss of classified information to the Facility Security ManagerSupport the Facility Security Manager with daily operations, training, and event coordinationPrepare and deliver security briefings as requiredProvide support to the MDA/GM Security Manager and Facility Security Manager, including General Services Administration (GSA) safe assignmentsTake on additional duties as directed by the Facility Security ManagerWhat You BringThe successful candidate will:Be able to multitask and adapt to a fast-paced environmentCreate and follow standard processes, clearly documenting resultsFunction as a self-starter who identifies risks, issues, and opportunities to the Facility Security ManagerCommunicate effectively with excellent presentation, oral, and written skills for interactions with senior leadership and customersWork both independently and collaboratively as part of a teamDemonstrate strong customer service skills and a positive attitudeHandle sensitive information with discretionBasic Requirements:3+ years of experience in a DoD environmentProficiency with Microsoft Office SuiteExperience with the Defense Information System for Security (DISS)Knowledge of DoDM 5200.1Experience in a classified environmentExperience safeguarding classified materialKnowledge of CFR 32 Part 117 “National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM)”Understanding of classified document markingsActive DoD Secret Security ClearanceDesired Qualifications:Completion of FSO Curriculum for Possessing Facilities (CDSE)Previous security experience within or supporting DoD programsWhy LaunchTech?At LaunchTech, we don’t just fill seats, we bring in people who want to make an impact.
