Job Description:We are currently seeking a motivated, enthusiastic Senior Staff Systems Engineer to support the end-user transition for the next generation of Information Management Services (IMS) under the FAA Enterprise Network Services (FENS) program. IMS consists of a variety of high-performance middleware services that will underpin the U.S. national airspace system for at least the next 15 years.As a key member of Saab’s FENS team, you will work to plan and implement the multiyear transition effort to move users from the legacy system to the new IMS system. This will involve extensive communication across internal engineering disciplines (development, testing, operations, etc.) as well as coordination with end-user organizations. After the initial transition effort, you will continue to support operations as new users are on-boarded and the IMS system’s capabilities evolve.Responsibilities:Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the IMS system and the services and parameters exposed to end-users.Review details for all existing connections to the legacy environment and develop a comprehensive plan to transition each of them.Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders throughout all stages of the transition process to ensure alignment and success.Consult with end-users to understand needs, answer questions, develop and refine plans, and respond to problems.Review and validate transition results.Provide feedback and suggestions to improve the provided services.Be an engaged and supportive member of the larger FENS IMS operations and maintenance team.Compensation Range: $120,800 - $157,000The compensation range provided is a general guideline.
