- Lead the engineering and technical design aspects within a multi-disciplinary team consisting of process, mechanical, drafting, electrical, controls, and operations for the development and commercialization of effective and safe products for the treatment of per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering teams, internal and 3rd party, with Ovivo's local and remote project teams.
- Read, understand and create specifications as well as general arrangement, fabrication, and design drawings.
- Perform detailed engineering tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Extract engineering information from design drawings.
- Prepare and develop engineering computations, bill of material takeoffs, and resource allocation estimates.
- Complete a variety of project assignments, such as drawing and specification reviews, materials procurement.
- Engage in the development of designs through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, etc.
- Prepare and issue specifications, data sheets, and other project design detail documents.
- Participate in functionality design reviews across all aspects of a project.
- Assist manufacturing and factory testing of projects with fabrication drawings (i.e. possibility of remote working conditions).
- Read and understand fabrication and standard engineering drawings.
- Advise project engineers, project managers and/ or other managers on project status.
- Assist in the development of new company standards and specifications.
- Conduct quality control and quality assurance tests and ensures designs are compliant with the clients' technical requirements and budget(s).
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering from an accredited university
- 5+ years of overall mechanical engineering design and development experience
- 2+ years of 3D CAD experience (preferred)
- Strong experience with mechanical system design, assemblies, and fabrication
- Design experience with a variety of materials (i.e. plastics, steel, aluminum) and basic knowledge of material specs and use.
- Ability to conduct basic analysis using DFMEA, FEA, & hand calculations
- Knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, and controls systems is a plus
- Experience Plastic/PVC piping systems and plastic fabrication is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written - including technical writing.
- Interest in supporting and building an engineering team.
- Positive attitude and ability to work in both solo and team environments.
