OverviewThe Developmental Disabilities Services Division is seeking a professional to join our team in program consulting, planning, coordinating, monitoring and management of DDSD's statewide Crisis resources for adults and children with developmental disabilities. Technical support and program development work at a professional level involving the planning and collaboration with DDSD's community partners to meet the basic health, safety and rehabilitative needs of children with developmental disabilities and their families for the Department of Disabilities, Aging and Independent Living. This class requires extensive interaction with state agencies, community service providers, and other organizations.This position will work out of DAIL's offices in Waterbury VT, with the ability for candidates to work a hybrid schedule, once training and orientations complete.As of July 14, 2025, the step 1 rate for pay grade 25 will be $30.92 per hour.Who May ApplyThis position, Crisis Specialist - Developmental Disabilities Services Division (Job Requisition #52800), is open to all State employees and external applicants.If you would like more information about this position, please contact .Resumes will not be accepted via e-mail. Incumbents are subject to a variety of stressful situations while evaluating and improving support services for people with developmental disabilities.Minimum QualificationsFour (4) years or more working in direct care or supervision of people with developmental disabilities, or in a crisis intervention program.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree or higher in a human service related fieldOne (1) or more years in a supervisory role.Special RequirementsCandidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position. In accordance with AHS Policy 4.02, Hiring Standards, Vermont and/or national criminal record checks, as well as DMV and adult and child abuse registry checks, as appropriate to the position under recruitment, will be conducted on candidates, with the exception of those who are current classified state employees seeking transfer, promotion or demotion into an AHS classified position or are persons exercising re-employment (RIF) rights.Total CompensationAs a State employee you are offered a great career opportunity, but it's more than a paycheck.
