- Oversee operation of capital machinery, specializing in machine tool systems (milling, boring, turning, hobbing, grinding).
- Optimize performance of equipment by implementing new capability (development of solutions to increase throughput and reduce cycle times using new tooling components/systems; programming techniques, control systems upgrades).
- Troubleshoot machine failures to minimize downtime, while collaborating with machine maintenance and equipment OEMs.
- Supports new capital procurement and the designs and arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
- Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
- Bachelor's in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology Engineering or Math) with 5+ years of relevant work experience; Master's Degree in a STEM discipline with 3+ years of relevant work experience; PhD with 0 years of experience.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment as a process owner (process, equipment, documentation, special training).
- Hands on experience machining and troubleshooting of machines or being in a machine shop environment.
- Experience with machine tool equipment and control systems (large CNC mills, lathes, hobbers and grinders).
- Comfortable and able to work well as part of an integrated team including skilled machinists, engineers, and management.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Ability to support multiple shifts as required.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance which requires US citizenship.
- Experience in machine tool design and maintenance.
- Capable of programming CNC lathes, mills and/or grinders.
