CobbFendley is seeking a Project Engineer in our Pearland, TX office.QUALIFICATIONSThe successful candidate’s most important qualifications include the following.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in roadway design, drainage design, PS&E, and/or Schematic development
  • Bachelor of Science in a relevant Engineering field from an ABET-accredited university.
  • E.I.T. certification in the State of Texas.
  • TxDOT roadway and drainage design project engineering experience.
  • MicroStation, GeoPak, and OpenRoads experience required.
  • Experience producing construction plan sets independently.
  • Strong organizational skills to effectively execute multiple concurrent projects.
  • Motivation to work in a dynamic environment with strict deadlines.
  • Desire to collaborate with professionals and clients to increase your industry knowledge and grow in your career.
  • Interest in developing relationships with clients, partners, and local organizations to remain a trusted resource in the community.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Support CobbFendley Project Managers and Engineers with engineering design tasks for various projects.
  • Successfully execute a variety of projects with high-quality and meeting project schedules.
  • Represent CobbFendley at client meetings and performing client coordination.
  • Be willing to grow technically in new design disciplines and software to support various projects.
  • Apply technical expertise and be able to work with a project team on conventional and unconventional projects.
  • Perform independent research and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Work with minimal supervision and deliver accurate high-quality work product.
  • Adhere to CobbFendley’s safety standards to uphold a safe and efficient environment.
  • Travel is a mandatory requirement of the role as assigned. The percentage of travel will fluctuate based on project-related and business needs and at times may account for 40% of the time worked. Travel includes to other offices or project sites throughout the US.

  • Sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
  • Most work is performed in a professional office environment. Some trips to client offices and job sites for observations will be required.
  • Job site observations factors could include: walking and climbing on uneven surfaces, exposure to outdoor environments and extreme weather (heat and freezing temperatures), noise exposure, driving for extended periods of time, exposure to allergens (e.g., pollen, dust, cedar, sumac, poison ivy), exposure to construction and traffic work zones, possible hand and power tool use, and extended periods of Personal Protective Equipment use.
  • Extended use of electronic devices (e.g., computers, printers, copiers, scanners, plotters, and telephones).
  • Use of cutting tools and equipment (e.g., plotting equipment, rotary paper cutter).
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
  • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM CST.
  • This position may include the need for overtime hours.
  • This position’s hours fluctuate based on project-related and department needs.
