JOB OPPORTUNITY:
Buckeye Relief is seeking an Assistant Controller to support the company's accounting, reporting,
and analysis. The position will be responsible for tasks like preparing financial statements,
reconciling accounts, supporting month-end and year-end closing, and helping with budgets and
forecasts. There will be a high level of interaction with the CFO and the Financial Associate as well
as A/P and A/R. This role offers opportunities to develop well-rounded financial skills through both
independent work and collaborative projects. There will be opportunities for advancement as the
company continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Month-End/Year-End Close: Leading the closing processes, including preparing journal
- Account Reconciliation: Reconciling general ledger accounts and ensuring accuracy of
- Posting Transactions: Daily sales, depreciation and amortization, insurance and tax
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assisting in the development and analysis of budgets and
- Internal Controls: Implementing and maintaining internal controls to safeguard company
- Compliance: Ensuring compliance with accounting regulations and company policies.
- Financial Analysis and Reporting: Providing support for financial analysis and reporting to
- Other duties as assigned
- Strong Accounting Knowledge: Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data and identify trends.
- Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal communication for interacting with
- Problem-Solving: Identifying and resolving accounting discrepancies or issues with a high
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Education: Undergraduate degree in Accounting from a reputable four-year university such
- Experience: 2-4 years of relevant accounting experience at a medium-sized for-profit
- CPA designation preferred but not required
