Organizes, coordinates and performs clerical and administrative functions following established standards in support of the Academic Affairs department in the College of Dentistry.Duties:
  • Assumes day-to-day responsibility for organizing and coordinating specialized clerical functions in support of Academic Affairs.
  • Answers questions, provides information and handles complaints for internal and external customers.
  • Updates office procedures for a more efficient operation when necessary.
  • Assists with preparation of agendas, minutes and scheduling of committee meetings.
  • Approves departmental expenditures within predetermined guidelines
  • Reviews billing from contractors and vendors, adjusts as needed.
  • Establishes and maintains filing systems including confidential documents.
  • Assists with implementation. training and supporting of new computer applications (Canvas, Simple Syllabus, Top Hat, etc.)
  • Coordinates departmental processes and maintains Peoplesoft data integrity
  • Plans and coordinates special projects.
  • Schedules departmental meetings, appointments and makes travel arrangements
  • Collects and disseminates information for internal and external customers
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired education: High School Diploma or GED, AND:
  • 12 months office, clerical, or administrative experience.
Skills:
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to complete tasks in an efficient and timely manner
  • Ability to multitask and self-motivated
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Advanced computer skills with wide knowledge of business software
  • Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
