Supervise and lead kitchen staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations to build a cohesive team.
Oversee daily food preparation, portion control, and presentation to ensure consistency and quality across all menu items.
Manage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships to control costs and minimize waste while maintaining supply levels.
Enforce strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and health regulations, conducting regular inspections and audits.
Collaborate with the General Manager and front-of-house team to streamline operations, resolve issues, and enhance overall guest satisfaction.
Monitor kitchen budgets, labor costs, and P&L elements specific to back-of-house to achieve financial targets.
Implement menu updates, specials, and process improvements to boost efficiency and innovation.
Handle equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience as a Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, or similar role in a fast casual or quick-service restaurant setting.
In-depth knowledge of kitchen operations, including food cost management, inventory systems, and POS integration.
Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
Current food safety certification (ServSafe or equivalent) and familiarity with local health codes.
Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree or related certification is a plus.
Must be authorized to work in the US and reside in or near Spokane, WA.
