Compensation: $95,000 – $110,000Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Controller to join our leadership team. This role is central to managing all financial operations of the firm with precision, transparency, and integrity. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in law firm accounting, billing, accounts payable, and cash receipts, while also serving as a key liaison with our Chief Operating Officer and external accountant.This is a high-impact, in-office role that requires both strategic insight and day-to-day operational leadership in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting LeadershipOversee all general ledger activity, billing, accounts payable, and cash receiptsEnsure accurate coding and classification of financial transactionsMaintain strong internal controls and accounting proceduresPrepare and oversee monthly internal financial statements, monthly/quarterly closings, and year-end processesCollaboration & SupportPartner with the COO on financial strategy and firm operationsProvide backup support for Accounts Payable/Receivable functionsServe as the main point of contact for the firm’s external accountantSystems & TechnologyManage and optimize accounting platforms (Center Base)Lead system upgrades and provide staff trainingStrategic Financial PlanningLead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysisPresent financial insights and recommendations to firm leadershipQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA not required)3–5 years of accounting experience, ideally within a law firm or professional services environmentMastery of legal billing systems and accounting platformsStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsProactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving and team collaborationCompensation & Benefits$95,000 – $110,000 base salaryComprehensive benefits package including health insurance, 401(k), and paid time offProfessional development and continuing education supportA collaborative and respectful culture that values your expertise
