Current knowledge of aviation maintenance technical skills, with recent aviation industry experience exercising the privileges of the Airframe and Powerplant Certificate

Demonstrates or explains how one would develop curriculum and deliver instruction in response to differences in individual experiences
Demonstrated strong communication skills in both verbal and written formats
Demonstrated ability to work as an effective and contributing member of a team
Demonstrated proficiency using 21st century teaching technologies, including presentation and instructional software applications, and common courseware design programs
Minimum QualificationsTo be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).Current FAA Mechanic Certificate with both Airframe and Powerplant ratingsANDAssociate of Applied Science in Aviation Maintenance Technology or other related technical service field,AND a minimum of five (5) years experience with both the Airframe and Powerplant mechanic certificate ratings as indicated by ;ORAt least eight (8) years experience with both the Airframe and Powerplant mechanic certificate rating as indicated by (could include a combination of experience as an A&P mechanic, A&P mechanic lead/supervisor, and/or mechanic training instructor).*Part time Instructors: An AMT Instructor presenting a certificate with a single rating will be limited to teaching only the subject material related to that rating. The above AMT Instructor education and experience requirements still apply appropriately to the single rating.ORA combination consisting of 2 years experience minimum with both Airframe and Powerplant mechanic certificate ratings, AND 5 years of military aircraft maintenance experience functioning in a similar capacity as a civilian certificated aircraft mechanic, AND Associate of Applied Science in Aviation Maintenance Technology or other related technical service field.Notes Regarding Academic CredentialsThese positions are included in the bargaining agreement between Portland Community College and the Portland Community College Faculty Federation Employees.Instructors shall have earned required academic credentials at a regionally accredited US institution or a foreign institution having the equivalent of regional accreditation.Instructors with credentials from other countries will have their transcripts evaluated by agencies that have good standing with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services to establish fulfillment of this standard.
