- The preparation of concise, well written reports and/or job order requests that clearly identify the problem, solution, benefits, alternatives considered, and the degree of risk which may be encountered.
- The orderly and rapid completion of projects assigned in the most economical and timely manner consistent with good engineering and safe work practices. Use of the system for capital job request approval workflow and integration into SAP as required.
- Competent knowledge of SAP transactions for the execution of the Engineering job functions including but not limited to the Creation, Editing, Display and Reporting of Purchase Requisitions, Notifications, Work Orders, Capital Assets, MRO Inventoried Parts, Functional Location and Equipment records, and other Asset Effectiveness transactions as identified.
- The supervision and control of all personnel working on assigned projects to ensure that they are completed satisfactorily. This includes selecting and supervising contractors.
- Ensure that cost overruns are avoided in all projects assigned.
- Ensure new equipment is designed and installed to allow easy maintenance and that maintenance instructions, prints, and documentation is available.
- The evaluation of deficiencies discovered in the process and equipment and the development of standard procedures for performing work, reducing waste, conserving energy, and reducing costs.
- Assist the Safety Department in the area of fire alarm systems, fire suppression system, sprinkler and foam systems, and the emergency system.
- Keep documentation, drawings, P&IDs updated and current.
- The employee must be completely conversant with applicable safety, loss prevention, and environmental standards of the Company, business group, and site. The employee must also be aware of the regulatory requirements and must implement those standards as specified in the standards and regulatory requirements in this work assignment.
- Coordinate and maintain a mechanical integrity program with proper documentation.
- Providing sound technical solutions to site problems in an economical manner with minimal interruption to site operations.
- Drive change in an environment that is resistant to change. Achieve buy-in for constant quality and productivity improvements that are initially disruptive to the smooth operation of the plant.
- Maintain the site high voltage electrical system.
- Maintain the contractor preventive maintenance plans in SAP.
- Manage Capital Projects 5k$-1000k$
- Supervise contractor personnel and ensure their compliance with all company safety standards.
- Decisions Recommended:
- Process changes/improvements where capital spending is required.
- Operating Procedures for new equipment installations.
- B.S. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or relevant experience.
- 10+ years of experience in Engineering with Operations/Manufacturing or Maintenance background.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills. Team orientation.
- Well-versed in AutoCAD, SAP, Excel, Word, Outlook, and other corporate supplied software.
- Human relation skills.
