· Cleans and restocks echo procedure room to prepare for each patient, disinfects echo transducers, machine, and bed after each use.
· Transports patients to and from department to reduce lags in department schedule and patient wait times.
· Demonstrates competency to perform duties in a timely and efficient manner in order to meet team productivity goals.
· Demonstrates competency to perform various types of Cardiac Sonograms (Transthoracic Adult, Transesophageal, Stress Echocardiogram, Contrast Echocardiogram, and knowledge of the appropriate procedures associated and follows department procedure for exams.
· Demonstrates competency to assist physician during TEE’s, transesophageal probe (multiplane and pre and post procedure set-up), post procedure care of TEE probe (cleaning and storing) and follows department procedures for exams.
· Demonstrates understanding and competency of ultrasound physics, arrhythmia recognition, cardiac anomalies, calculations, 2D views, 3D views, M-mode views, Doppler, transducer selection.
· Demonstrates competency and explains with high level of understanding: 2-D views, M-mode views, pulsed wave Doppler, continuous wave Doppler, and color Doppler.
· Demonstrates competency and explains proper operation of: Echo machine digital capture and storage.
· Demonstrates competency in assisting of physician and/or physician extender during stress echos and follows department procedure for Stress Echo.
