- Supervise, direct, and coordinate all field personnel (including subcontractors, laborers, and other staff).
- Plan daily construction activities.
- Coordinate tunnel activities with other project operations.
- Oversee and support the election and procurement of project equipment.
- Daily progress reports and payroll per project requirements.
- Maintain adequate materials and equipment inventories to support production.
- Monitor craft compliance with all health, safety, and environmental rules and ensure all work is done in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment, document, and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
- Ensure all crew members, including subcontractors, are properly trained in safety procedures, equipment use, and tunneling techniques.
- Manage TBM supply contracts from inception to project completion, including budget control, contract clauses, compliance, contract execution, and client communication.
- Monitor the TBM assembly, installation, testing, commissioning, and production performance.
- Organizing and scheduling required downtime and maintenance for TBM.
- Interact with the Client and the Client's representative regarding construction operations.
- Proactively identify potential construction or safety risks, including ground conditions, equipment failure, or hazardous materials, and develop mitigation strategies.
- High school graduate
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in tunnel construction/engineering for heavy civil projects
- Pressurized tunneling experience utilizing slurry-type TBM
- Tunnel construction experience using precast tunnel lining systems
- Drill and Blast Experience
- General Construction Experience
- Computer skills to include Microsoft Office and email.
- Effective oral and written communication skills are required.
- Knowledge of heavy civil construction principles, with ability to read plans and specifications.
- Attention to Detail and ability to recognize discrepancies.
- The primary work environment is the project site work, including the tunnel and tunnel boring machine, as well as the site office environment.
- Able to work after hours, weekends and on call when needed.
- Limited traveling for meetings and site visits.
- Ability to walk and work on outdoor construction job sites.
- Ability to lift and/or lift up to 40 lbs.
