Apply today and be more with Baker.SummaryThe Corporate Payroll Senior Specialist assists in the direction and preparation of “Field” payroll and subsequent distribution and reporting processes for multiple companies in multiple national and international locations. Ensures calculation of wages, overtime, prevailing wages, union rates, and garnishments. Ensures all payroll processing complies with federal, state, and international laws and payments are disbursed timely and appropriately.Roles and ResponsibilitiesThe Corporate Payroll Senior Specialist will perform the following duties in a safe, productive, and effective manner:
- Implements payroll procedures to ensure efficient and accurate administration of payroll processing
- Utilizes “field” payroll databases Vista and Paycor management system to ensure:
- Accurate deductions are applied for union, garnishment, and benefit expenses.
- Accurate pay adjustments are made to meet Davis-Bacon and / or other prevailing wage rate requirements
- Helps to maintain all payroll related computer files
- Responds to requests for wage verifications, certified payroll reporting, union reporting, unemployment reporting and CIP reporting
- May assist Payroll Manager with the preparation of special reports for senior management
- May have responsibility for processing international/Canadian payroll
- Works with, trains, and develops payroll team to ensure maximum efficiency and accuracy of the payroll process
- Ensures the proper application of taxes for national and international withholding
- Stays abreast of issues, laws, and regulations in area of specialization
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business-related periodicals, journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
- Ability to prepare and write routine correspondence
- Ability to calculate mathematical figures such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and co-workers
- Must possess strong customer service skills
- Ability to work in a team environment, strong team player
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. May require assistance of Payroll Manager to resolve more difficult problems
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
