
Government Policy Analyst

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel, including pivot tables, and complex formulas;
- Working knowledge of data visualization and analysis tools, such as R, Stata, Power BI, Tableau, and ArcGIS, with the ability to present complex data to diverse audiences in a clear, approachable, and compelling manner;
- Some relevant coursework in or exposure to government budgeting, finance, and/or fiscal analysis; and,
- Some relevant coursework in or exposure to database management and/or other data collection and management platforms like Access, Qualtrics, SQL
- Collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively on interdisciplinary project teams, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability;
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster positive relationships with internal and external partners;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical collaborators;
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously while consistently meeting deadlines;
- Proactive problem-solving skills, with the ability to take initiative and identify solutions independently;
- Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to understand business needs and develop tailored solutions;
- Experience or interest in process automation; and,
- Genuine interest in Georgia’s local governments and public policy, with a commitment to staying informed on legislative developments and related government actions.
- Two or more years of experience working within a government organization, regional commission, or similar agency.
