Shift: 1st shift, Monday–Friday (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM), occasional Saturdays for OT

Our client, known for its work in decorative architecture, stay cable components, and the heat-treating industry, has been featured on Manufacturing Marvels (Fox Business Network) and Crain's Business Magazine. Notably, their recent structural work was displayed in a high-profile Park Avenue Exhibit in New York City.As a Welder/Fitter , you'll assist the production team to ensure excellence in manufacturing, quality, and production operations. Safety is the top priority.Responsibilities:
- Fit, position, and secure structural and architectural components using blueprints and layout drawings.
- Determine required equipment, welding method, and techniques based on project specifications.
- Develop and utilize templates, jigs, and work aids to align parts accurately.
- Perform tack welding and final welds on components and assemblies—primarily Flux Core welding , with occasional TIG, MIG, or Sub-Arc welding.
- Heat, form, and adjust metal parts using torches and welding equipment.
- Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
- Perform fitting tasks including cutting, grinding, beveling, and adjusting pieces to match exact specifications before welding.
- Remove rough spots from workpieces using grinders, files, or scrapers.
- Inspect grooves, angles, and gap allowances using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
- Collaborate with team members to complete complex fabrications from engineered drawings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- 3 years' experience in Flux Core welding and fitting , working with materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and titanium.
- Ability to perform a CJP (Complete Joint Penetration) weld .
- Experience in fitting structural or custom components to blueprint and tolerance specs.
- TIG and MIG welding experience is a plus.
- Ability to read blueprints, tape measures, and perform layout math accurately.
- Flexibility to cross-train or assist in the Elyria plant for short durations.
- Experience with forklifts and overhead cranes.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
