- Applying equity principles to traditional research methods while maintaining analytical rigor.
- Interpreting and managing large, complex datasets, and developing sophisticated queries to integrate and summarize disparate sources.
- Designing and reviewing statistical analyses using methods such as regression, survey sampling, and experimental design.
- Communicating complex findings clearly through reports, visualizations, and presentations tailored to diverse audiences.
- Overseeing and coordinating the work of technical specialists in data systems and information management.
- Understanding and applying state and federal confidentiality laws, security standards, and access policies.
- Bringing strong problem-solving skills to analyze complex activities, relationships, and policies, and to craft sound, defensible recommendations.

Incumbents are required to have access to reliable transportation for frequent travel within the state. Some work outside of the normal work schedule or overtime duty may be occasionally required.
