We are looking for a dedicated Custodial Worker to help us keep our roadside rest area along I-70 in top condition for travelers. In this role, you will be responsible for more than just cleaning-you will be a key part of our team, ensuring the safety and comfort of every person who stops.DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a Custodial with the Department of Transportation, you will clean and stock restrooms on a regular basis which includes replenishing and maintaining stock of restroom supplies, such as toilet paper, paper towels, and soap. You will also sweep, mop, and sanitize floors throughout the facility. Cleaning and maintaining building entrances, walkways, and outside premises are essential in this position. Additionally, you will empty and dispose of trash and recycling from indoor and outdoor receptacles.You will keep the grounds pristine by mowing, trimming, and clearing litter, and you will be the one who ensures safe passage during the winter by shoveling snow, salting walkways, and keeping paths clear. Your sharp eye will be crucial for identifying and reporting any maintenance issues or safety hazards, and your commitment to following safety protocols will keep both you and our visitors safe.
