Decatur Cogeneration Plant
This is a full-time, exempt level position.Job Summary
The Production Engineer will be responsible for providing engineering support for the Cogeneration production team. Primary focus will be leading process improvements for all facets of operation and health and safety through direct contributions of project development from conception through start-up. It is also responsible for assisting in managing day-to-day operations, tracking and understanding department costs, yields, quality and process performance. The role will not require management of direct reports, but various indirect reports will be managed as part of specific projects and initiatives. This position may work with capital contractor management and the plant maintenance team for the completion of projects within the department.Essential Job Functions:Demonstrated knowledge of plant production processes and equipment.Drive compliance with ADM safety, health, quality, and environmental programs and policiesProvide subject matter expertise and manage capital projects related to improvements and expansion of the system including equipment selection, design review processes, vendor evaluation and related contractor management.Coordinate and collaborate with multiple disciplines and various levels of management within Operations, Maintenance, Technical Centers of Excellence, and other non-Operations stakeholders.Background in Engineering with a process control, project management, mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering preferred.Ability to research and gather information in support of project development.A strong interest in Energy or Environmental Conservation is a plus.Project Implementation Experience, preferably experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.Demonstrated leadership and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written format to all levels of the organization including internal plant leadership as well as divisional management.Projects may include work in pump and fan optimization, process control optimization, boiler / steam optimization, chemical use and heat recovery and integration.Critical Knowledge:Minimum of B.S. in Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.Master's degree (either MBA or Engineering) is a plus.2-5 years of plant operations experience preferred.Minimum of 3 years experience in engineering within an industrial / manufacturing environment preferred.1-3 years in direct supervision of people; supervisory experience in a union environment is a plus.Financial valuation experience rationalizing and evaluating capital investments.Familiarity with technical aspects of steam production, water treatment, and power generation operations.Experience in ADM PE, FEL, and WAVE systems is a plus.Critical Abilities:
