- Responsible for strategic development of their assigned suppliers and managing a subcategory team of category leaders.
- Must keep abreast of market conditions and changes within the supplier's organization that may affect our relationship.
- Experience with managing 3+ commodities is a plus and/or Experience in other Bobcat departments.
- Negotiating contracts and agreements with suppliers to achieve favorable terms and conditions autonomously.
- Monitoring supplier performance and compliance with contracts.
- Support the organization on all new product development programs and value analysis/value engineering programs.
- Ensure that appropriate product launch plans are in place during the New Product Development phases including aftermarket.
- Development of Global commodity strategies.
- Alignment and implementation of the strategies.
- Management of strategy development within the Categories.
- Analyzing category performance and market trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and align category strategies with business needs.
- Creates better ways for the organization to be successful by cultivating innovation.
- Stimulate and direct others through ideas, questions, and direction.
- Execution of project completion through project leadership.
- Project support on cross functional teams.
- Direct tasks and priority for team members.
- Consistently competent to highly competent work performance.
- Drives and manages changes in business requirements and implements new plans with minimal disruption.
- Exert influence across various levels of the organization.
- Provide recommendations to team and upper management.
- Lead by example in both conduct and performance.
- Must be able to communication with everyone within an organization from people on a shop floor to executive leadership of major corporations and escalate to sourcing leadership when needed.
- Attend Trade Shows/Conferences/Training to Bring Further Competency to the Team.
- Mentors Junior Employees and Assists RCM with Training Requirements.
- Assists Junior Team Members with High Profile Projects and Presentations
- Influence others to make important decisions. Use both formal and informal influence to get to desired results.
- Strive to be a positive influence not only to mentees but also to their teams, fostering growth, collaboration, and a supportive environment for everyone involved.
- Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related fields.
- Experience Required: ~7+years.
- Degree in Supply Chain may replace experience.
- Travel Required: 20-40%
- Occasional global travel.
- Must be able to communicate with everyone within an organization from persons on the shop floor to CEOs of major corporations.
- Must practice good judgement which allows the individual to commit to the most appropriate action after considering alternate courses of action.
- Must have leadership skills which will allow the commodity manager to persuade others to also accept this action and help implement the action plan.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Fill in for other team members or RCM in their absence.
- Manage or mentoring of others on the team.
- Support RCM for all financial reporting and systems.
