
Senior Technical Writer

- Develop, revise, and maintain technical documentation such as procedures, work instructions, CTQ documents, and project materials including diagrams, flowcharts, graphics, and photos.
- Research, observe, and engage in on-floor production and office environments to fully understand processes and improve documentation accuracy.
- Manage document control systems to ensure all materials are current, consistent, and effectively communicated across teams.
- Partner with management to define and uphold documentation standards and ensure consistent application across departments.
- Lead and coordinate documentation projects that require collaboration across multiple teams.
- Collaborate with engineers, operators, and internal stakeholders to gather technical details and translate them into comprehensive, easy-to-understand documents.
- Research technical manuals, specifications, customer requirements, and regulations to produce high-quality documentation.
- Review and edit documents created by others to ensure clarity, consistency, and technical accuracy.
- Design and recommend training or instructional tools to support effective knowledge transfer.
- Proactively manage project timelines and deliverables to meet business objectives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven project management experience, including coordination, communication, and presentation to internal and external audiences.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems; quick to learn new software tools.
- Strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Analytical thinker capable of developing and delivering well-reasoned, actionable recommendations to management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of senior-level technical writing experience, ideally in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Experience in electronics manufacturing.
- Background in writing production-focused procedures.
- Understanding of engineering principles including ECOs, BOMs, routings, and configurations.
- Proficiency with tools such as MS Project, SharePoint, FMEA.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience with technical photography and image editing (Adobe Photoshop).
- Working in both engineering and production floor settings.
- Fast-paced, collaborative manufacturing environment.
- Full-time salaried role based at our headquarters in Fridley, Minnesota.
