Growing together.The Client Solutions Director is expected to lead the team serving as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients. The Director should become an expert in the contents and uses of Optum Life Sciences' real-world data assets. Success in this role requires: (a) the ability to engage and educate clients and prospects about the assets and capabilities of OLS RWDS; (b) facility and expertise in developing and delivering presentations and exceptional communication (written and oral) skills; (c) creativity to address specific, even novel, responses to the clients' questions and requests; (d) comfort working in a matrixed and geographically dispersed organization; and (e) flexibility to navigate organizational change and shifts in responsibilities and priorities You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as development for other roles you may be interested in.
The Director, Client Solutions, Real World Data Solutions (RWDS), is responsible for managing a portfolio of high-value life science clients throughout their engagement with Optum Life Sciences RWDS.You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:
  • Support and advance client relationships: listen, understand, and articulate client needsDrive the value and adoption of Optum's real world data solutions by using a consultative business approach with pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients
  • Interface with clients and develop substantive, long-standing relationships
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for Optum RWDS and real-world evidence generation
  • Facilitate ongoing strategy and planning sessions (strategy meetings, office hours) with clients to determine how Optum's RWDS can be leveraged to answer key research questions
  • Partner with internal sales team to present RWD capabilities and pre-sales feasibility analyses
  • Develop licensing proposals, RFI responses, and pricing schema, in collaboration with leadership
  • Lead analytic efforts that advance fit for purpose data assessments and investigations to resolve client data questions
  • Communicate and evaluate customer feedback in collaboration with Optum's product development and operations teams to improve and advance products and processes
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients using Optum RWDS, ensuring exceptional client service and satisfaction
  • Understand client needs, questions, and feedback, and effectively communicate these to the data and engineering teams for product enhancement and troubleshooting
  • Provide training and ongoing support to clients using Optum RWDS
  • Supervise and mentor team of junior consultants supporting client portfolio

  • 5+ years of proven experience in a client-facing role in healthcare, life sciences or real-world data solutions
  • 3+ years of experience supporting multiple ongoing client/consulting engagements for or with life science (pharmaceutical and/or biotech) customers
  • Demonstrated familiarity with real-world data applications and real-world evidence generation
  • Proven excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise between clients, business, and technical teams
  • Demonstrated problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to addressing client needs and product issues
  • Experience supervising and mentoring junior staff
  • Ability travel periodically to conduct training at client sites and attend client and/or industry meetings
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of post education experience with programming languages such as SQL, Python and R Experience with statistical data analysis
  • Knowledge real-world data and evidence generation
  • Experience building and managing teams in dynamic, complex environments

The salary for this role will range from $132,200 to $226,600 annually based on full-time employment.
