Engineer 3 – Power Systems DesignLocation: Plant Hatch, GeorgiaContract- 1 YearClient- Southern Company.Job Summary:We are seeking a highly experienced Engineer 3 to support power systems engineering and construction design at Plant Hatch . This role plays a key part in developing safe and efficient engineering solutions while providing oversight and technical direction to contractors. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in design, system, program, maintenance, or procurement engineering roles at a nuclear power facility and will be well-versed in Southern Company engineering processes and applications.Key Responsibilities:Apply engineering principles, design criteria, and software tools to support power system design and constructionDevelop cost estimates, design options, and construction specifications for assigned projectsLead or participate in preparation, review, and quality assurance of construction packages developed by internal teams or external contractorsSupport development and application of system design standards and criteriaCollaborate with various departments (design, operations, maintenance, procurement) to ensure cohesive project executionAssist construction and maintenance teams with technical support during day-to-day operationsEnsure project safety and compliance with all regulations and internal safety proceduresEstimate material and labor costs for engineering projectsUtilize SNC-specific tools such as Maximo and D2 Applications to support project execution and documentationReview and process engineering documentation including ABNs , ADCs , and Equivalency EvaluationsQualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (required)7–10 years of related engineering experience in power generation or utility sectorPrevious experience working at Plant Hatch as a design, system, program, maintenance, or procurement engineer (preferred)Familiarity with Southern Nuclear Company (SNC) engineering processes, including ABNs, ADCs, and Equivalency Evaluations (required)Proficient with Maximo and D2 Applications (required)Strong knowledge of engineering design practices, software tools, and utility work processesAbility to make sound engineering decisions with minimal supervisionExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong work ethic, positive attitude, and team-oriented mindset
