What Success Looks Like In This JobThe mission of the District Attorney's Office is to keep the community safe and to make the criminal justice system better through the fair and ethical prosecution of criminal offenders, while seeking justice for victims of crime.In support of the mission,the 17th Judicial District Attorney's Office is seeking a highly motivated and collaborative professional to serve as the Domestic Violence High Risk Team (DVHRT) Coordinator. This position supports the multidisciplinary DVHRT initiative and requires advanced skills in victim services, interagency coordination, case analysis, project management, data evaluation, policy development and analysis, and stakeholder engagement.Examples of Duties for SuccessTeam Coordination & Case Review and Management
  • Lead and facilitate weekly DVHRT meetings and multidisciplinary case reviews
  • Identify cases that should be assigned to the DVHRT Team by scoring and assessing risk, lethality factors, criminal history and prior case involvement
  • Ensure timely and accurate information sharing among team partners
  • Maintain close communication with law enforcement, community partners, and internal District Attorney Office staff to identify and address immediate and long-term victim resource and safety needs
  • Assist in connecting survivors to appropriate resources, advocacy and community support
Interagency Collaboration & Training
  • Foster cross-training opportunities among DVHRT partners to build knowledge, skill and strong working relationships
  • Work with DVHRT partners to Identify and solve gaps in service delivery
  • Train and onboard new DVHRT partners
Data, Policy, and Program Development
  • Analyze data trends, case outcomes, and crime patterns to support high-level decision-making and resource planning to provide recommendations to enhance team impact and improve survivor outcomes
  • Develop and enhance collaborative partnerships to expand the DVHRT program
  • Assess and recommend enhancements to the core framework, processes, and infrastructure of the DVHRT to ensure long-term effectiveness and sustainability
  • Review and improve internal and external materials-including protocols, training guides, and outreach tools-to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with current policies, best practices, and the overall goals of the DVHRT
  • Plan and develop DVHRT budget and communicate budgetary needs to the District Attorney, the Chief of the DVHRT/FJC and the Chief Operating Officer.
  • Support the planning and operation of the Family Justice Center, including the collaboration and integration of the DVHRT and the Family Justice Center (FJC) operations, by engaging stakeholders and participating in planning committees.
Grant Management
  • Contribute to the design and development of future grant applications, as needed.
  • Develop and manage work plans aligned with grant goals, deliverables, and performance metrics.
  • Collect and analyze programmatic data for use in quarterly and annual grant reporting.
Leadership and Supervision
  • Support and enhance all programs and issues related to the DVHRT and the Family Justice Center, including staffing, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation, and advise and support the District Attorney, Assistant District Attorney, Chief of DVHRT/FJC and other members of the Executive Leadership Team regarding DVHRT related matters.
  • Provide ongoing support and leadership for the advocates and investigators assigned to DVHRT.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL, OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD HAVE THE FOLLOWING KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Strong organizational, communication (oral and written), and facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word), cloud-based platforms such as OneDrive and SharePoint, and virtual collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, Zoom).
  • Extensive knowledge of domestic violence dynamics, trauma-informed and culturally responsive best practices, and the criminal justice response to intimate partner violence.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of law enforcement investigation procedures/processes, including evidence handling, case documentation, and interagency coordination.
  • Skill in communicating across all ranks within law enforcement and with prosecutorial leadership.
  • Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams, facilitate meetings, and manage complex case review processes.
  • Familiarity with ODARA and/or Danger Assessments, threat assessments and perpetrator behavior.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including report writing, public speaking and training delivery.
  • Demonstrated capacity for data analysis, policy evaluation, and strategic program development.
  • High degree of professionalism, and independent and sound judgment in problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Ability to foster collaborative, positive, and productive relationships within the DA's Office and across disciplines and agencies.
  • Experience with grant administration or reporting is preferred.
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality regarding interagency and intra-agency policies, procedures, and sensitive information.
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to community safety and making the criminal justice system better.
Qualifications for SuccessExperience: Minimum five (5) years of direct experience supporting survivors of domestic violence in a law enforcement-based advocacy setting.At least two (2) years of supervisory or team leadership experience (preferred).Education and Training: Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, social work, human services, public administration, or related field.Background Check: requiredA resume and cover letter MUST be submitted to be considered for this position.Adams County complies with Colorado’s Job Application Fairness Act (“JAFA”).
