Lead Custodians must aid in the oversight of all custodial work.This role pays an hourly rate of $16.54-$17.12 (per CBA).Benefits as per the union agreement.This position will remain open until October 10, 2025.About the VenuePeoplesBank Arena is Connecticut’s premier destination for sports & entertainment. PeoplesBank Arena will continue to be the center of sports and entertainment for Hartford and the State of Connecticut for years to come.Responsibilities
  • Assists in the training, coaching, and supervision of custodial staff
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work and arrive for each scheduled shift on time, in uniform and ready to work
  • Ability to work morning, afternoon and/or overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand on feet for up to 8 hours at a time, to kneel, stoop, climb stairs and reach above head as well as perform repetitive motions in connection with cleaning tasks
  • Ability to follow verbal instructions & read written instructions especially relating to cleaning products & SDS
  • Performs light and heavy cleaning tasks including, but not limited to, cleaning bathrooms, locker rooms, sweeping, mopping, disposing of garbage, etc.
  • Restocks restrooms with supplies
  • Works safely, quickly, and efficiently to meet all deadlines
  • Maintains a positive, outgoing demeanor and acknowledges guests in a friendly manner
  • Possesses basic computer skills
  • All other tasks assigned by Supervisor
Qualifications
  • 2 years cleaning or event related experience required
  • Prior lead or supervisory responsibilities preferred
  • Basic understanding of how to use cleaning equipment
  • Ability to operate scrubbers, buffers, carpet extractors, etc.
  • Basic understanding of SDS
  • Basic understanding of PPE
