
Assembler - 2nd shift

- 4:00 pm - 12:30 am (Monday-Friday)
- Overtime, as needed
- Assembling Mark V circuit-switchers at one of several stations, ranging in size from 6' x 10' x 10' to 15' x 15' x 15'.
- Assembling TR-II switches, ranging in size up to 5' x 1' x 1' to 11'x 1' x 1'.
- Identifying, transporting, installing, mounting and bolting all switch components (ranging from 5 lbs. to over 100 lbs. with assistance). Some judgment required to assemble and make simple adjustments.
- Performing mechanical inspection using torque wrenches, screwdriver and tape measure, and electrical inspection using a test console.
- Using simple material handling equipment, hand tools, power tools, simple gauges and instruments, and overhead cranes.
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Demonstrate the skills to use air impact tools and other hand-held tools.
- Ability to use shop math and measuring tools such as tape measures.
- Ability to follow specific instructions and procedures and read assembly prints.
- Demonstrate knowledge of mechanical assembly operations preferred.
- Soldering experience preferred.
- Manufacturing assembly experience preferred.
- Standing: All tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking.
- Lifting: Frequent lifting of items ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 50 lbs.
- Walking: Occasional walking moderate distances (less than 1/8 mile).
- Carrying: Frequent carrying of items ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 25 lbs.
- Pushing: Occasional pushing of motorized material handling carts with loaded weights up to 1000 lbs.
- Pulling: Occasional pulling of motorized material handling carts with loaded weights up to 1000 lbs.
- Bending: Frequent bending and crouching to safely lift parts of various sizes and shapes.
- Reaching: Continuous full range of motion from above the shoulders to below the knees.
- Handling: Continuous handling of parts ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 50 lbs.
- Other: Respirator certification required.
