Join our 5-star CMS facility as Dietary Manager!Full-Time, Days Exempt position based on 80 hours per 2-week pay period; additional shifts and hours as requiredLocated in Seymour WI 20-25-minute drive from both Green Bay and AppletonPurpose of Job Position:The primary purpose of your job position is planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Dietary Department in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by the Nursing Home Administrator, to assure that quality nutritional services are provided on a daily basis and that the Dietary Department is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner. Must possess valid ServSafe CertificationQUALIFICATIONS (must possess at least one of below): * A certified dietary manager; or
  • A certified food service manager; or
  • Has similar national certification for food service management and safety from a national certifying body; or
  • Has an associate's or higher degree in food service management or in hospitality, if the course study includes food service or restaurant management, from an accredited institution of higher learning
EXPERIENCE * Must have, as a minimum, two (2) years' experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility.
  • Must have training in cost control, food management, diet therapy, etc.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Dietary Department, its programs and activities.
  • Coordinate dietary services and activities with other related departments (i.e., Nursing, Housekeeping, Social Services, Meadow Wood, Forest Glen, Shepherd's Inn and Child Care, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain written dietary policies and procedures.
  • In coordination with HR, develop and maintain written job descriptions and performance evaluations for each level of dietary personnel.
  • Interpret the department's policies and procedures to employees, residents, visitors, government agencies, etc., as necessary.
  • Assist the dietary staff in the development and use of departmental policies, procedures, equipment, supplies, etc.
  • Perform administrative duties such as completing necessary forms, reports, evaluations, studies, etc., to assure control of equipment and supplies.
  • Develop and maintain a file of tested standard recipes.
  • Submit accident/incident reports to HR immediately, no later than twenty-four (24) hours after their occurrence.
  • Assume authority, responsibility, and accountability of supervising the Dietary Department.
  • Inspect food storage rooms, utility/janitorial closets, etc., for upkeep and supply control.
  • Review and assist in developing a plan of correction for dietary service deficiencies noted during survey inspections and provide a written copy of such to the NHA.
  • Process diet changes and new diets as received from nursing services.
