- Provide for residents' safety by periodically checking on them and observing any special precautions that might be listed in the chart or logbook.
- Ensure security of the building.
- Carry out specific, applicable treatment plans with residents as listed in the ISP (Individual Service Plan).
- Interact with residents and assist them in skill building and recreational activities per ISP.
- Check on the residents' follow through on required assignments.
- Document significant events in the resident's chart and facility logbook.
- Perform cooking, cleaning chores as necessary such as straightening up kitchen, washing dishes, dusting, facility laundry, etc.
- Respond to and handle situations and/or consult with supervisor.
- Report maintenance problems to the House Manager.
- Carries out policy and procedures of the agency, may participate in community work, staff development, agency wide projects and serve on committees/teams. Attends meetings and performs other related duties as requested.
- Abides by agency and/or professional code of ethics.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and posses the ability to work well both independently and with others in a sensitive, supportive manner that will facilitate the achievement of client goals.
- Staff must be a role model who presents behaviors that are mature, self-sufficient and socially appropriate. Must be able to follow through on assignments.
- Professional approach to all functions and relationships with all levels of staff, clients, other agencies and the public.
- Strives to continuously improve own and agency operations.
- Incorporates Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) techniques into daily work activities and participates on CQI teams or in CQI initiatives.

- High school diploma and previous experience working with persons who have a severe mental health disability or, enrolled in an educational program in the social services/mental health field preferred.
- Medication experience preferred.
- First Aid and CPR certification required.
- Will be required to have an initial background check (includes information regarding any prior criminal convictions or pleas of guilty) to determine fitness to provide services to individuals served.
- Those eligible to drive company vehicles must have a valid driver's license and be eligible for coverage as defined by the agency commercial insurance carrier. Those who drive personal vehicles in the course of business must be able to provide proof of insurance.
