Our new employees experience opportunities to learn and grow while caring for their families, friends and neighbors.IMC is currently hiring a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician's Assistant (PA) [Physician's Practice Clinic, Family Medicine], under the immediate supervision of the Physician Practice Manager and with the authority of the Chief Nursing Officer, the Physician Assistant renders safe nursing care to patients. The NP supervises, directs, and monitors the nursing care assigned to her/him. The NP must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psycho/social, education, safety, and related criteria for the pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric population.TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Two plus years of FAMILY MEDICINE experience required
WORK HOURS:
  • Fulltime- 40 hours per week
EDUCATION:
  • Graduate of state approved NP/PA school.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:
  • Current Louisiana NP/PA license required.
  • CPR certification must be obtained prior to completion of orientation.
PRINCIPLE TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Demonstrates respect for patients and families
  • Maintains and protects confidentiality regarding all aspects of patient care.
  • Applies the nursing process to each patient and implements nursing actions.
  • Identifies patient and family education needs and in collaboration with other with other disciplines initiates education needs according to the age of the patient.
  • Participates in planning of patient discharge needs and readiness for discharge.
  • Functions as a positive role model for peers and promotes a professional image of Iberia Medical Center.
  • Consistently lives by Iberia Medical Centers Standards of Performance.
  • Adheres to the Patient Safety Goals.
