- Lead and manage full cycle recruiting for positions ranging from skilled trades (foreman, equipment operators, laborers, concrete finishers, industrial plant maintenance and industrial electricians).
- Partner with hiring managers to understand project requirements, workforce planning needs, and role-specific qualifications.
- Develop and execute effective recruiting strategies using a combination of direct sourcing, social media, job boards, trade schools, unions, industry events, and referrals.
- Attend recruiting/workforce development events: career fairs, career expos, and education partnership programs.
- Plan, coordinate and execute internal hiring events as needed.
- Create compelling job postings tailored to attract qualified candidates within the construction and aggregate sectors.
- Screen, interview, and assess candidates using structured techniques, construction-industry-specific & aggregate operations evaluation criteria.
- Maintain candidate pipelines for ongoing and future hiring needs across multiple strategic marketing areas (SMAs) and regions.
- Lead recruitment marketing initiatives in collaboration with SMA Leadership and corporate marketing teams to promote the company's employment brand in the heavy construction and aggregates market.
- Ensure a strong candidate experience through effective communication and timely feedback.
- Track and report recruiting metrics including time-to-fill, source of hire, and recruiting and retention data to hiring managers, general managers and division leadership.
- Stay informed of labor market trends, wage data, and hiring practices.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal employment laws and internal hiring policies.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of recruiting experience preferred.
- 1+ years focused on the heavy construction and aggregates industry required.
- Proven track record of sourcing and hiring skilled labor, project managers, engineers, and field supervisors.
- Strong knowledge of the heavy construction industry, including terminology, job functions, certifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Expertise in applicant tracking systems (ATS) Oracle preferred, recruiting software, and job boards (e.g., Indeed, LinkedIn, iCIMS).
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders across decentralized projects.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
- Familiarity with DOT, OSHA, and MSHA compliance issues.
- Occasional travel out of state for training required.
- Local area travel for events and community workforce development required.
- Driver's License with Clean MVR required.
