
Electrical Maintenance Manager

- Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
- Coordinates the allocation of all electrical and automation engineering resources with all plant departments
- Manages all plant electrical maintenance programs to ensure optimum machinery performance and minimum downtime.
- Identifies plant electrical needs, makes capital proposals and is held accountable for areas of responsibility
- Prepares and manages electrical maintenance budget and provides management group with monthly updates.
- Develops long-term electrical plan aimed at establishing preventative and predictive measures to optimize equipment.
- Manages the installation of new equipment and oversees alteration to all plant buildings and structures.
- Conducts and participates in plant meetings regarding operations activities, safety, environmental issues, and special projects
- Participates and champion the corporate derived programs to establish companywide standards for the electrical and automation policies.
- Provides leadership for direct reports in defining expectations, giving feedback and redirection.
- Mentors and develops team for personal growth and succession planning
- Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
- 4 year/bachelors degree in engineering, preferably electrical engineering is required
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a professional engineering environment dealing with project management and familiarity with contractors and sales people.
- Experience in a heavy industry with specific office and field experience in engineering design (to include programmable logic control equipment usage) and construction.
- Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
- Proficient in English written, verbal communication and listening skills
- Ability to make decisions and to exercise sound judgment in arriving at a conclusion
- Ability to effectively negotiate
- Knowledge of engineering theories, principles and techniques, especially those regarding electrical engineering.
- Knowledge of local, state and federal regulations pertaining to environmental and safety issues.
- Knowledge of contract management practices and cement and/or lime manufacturing processes is a plus.
- Ability to use and troubleshoot engineering equipment such as measuring devices, calculators, computers and programmable logic controller (PLC's)
- Ability to climb ladders and walk over rocky and uneven surfaces.
- Ability to use independent judgment in performing daily activities.
- Ability to work in conjunction with and collaborate with others
- Ability to refer to manager for guidance on unusual problems.
- Ability to stay current of new technologies, regulations and work procedures and make recommendations.
